Coyote is by far the most heavily trapped and traded among all fur bearing animals in north america. Within Canada thousands are trapped every year for commercial sale. A break down by province is shown below.

These numbers are totals submitted by trappers to the government accounting for the total number of pelts sold on the market. This does not include "poor quality" or unusable pelts, of which there are many more thousands. These pelts are ruined for a number of reasons, ranging from carcasses freezing to the ground, scavengers feeding on the animal, or damage from the snare used to trap the animal. These numbers do no include farmed animals.
